Two Italian icons collaborate to launch new Malfy Spritz Sorbetto

Malfy, the Super-Premium+ Gin inspired by the Amalfi Coast, is partnering with luxury gelato and sorbetto brand, REMEO, to launch an exclusive Spritz-flavoured lolly that captures the taste of ‘La Dolce Vita’ in time for summer. 

The new Malfy Spritz Sorbetto will be adding an extra dash of sunshine to freezer aisles by offering a frozen symphony of Mediterranean indulgence. Infused with Italian blood oranges, Prosecco, a twist of lemon and a hint of bitters, the icy fusion is finished with a pièce de resistance: a serve of Malfy Con Arancia.

Sorbetto is different to regular iced desserts. There is less ice, more fruit. It’s this fruit that not only delivers a mouth watering, refreshing taste, but when combined with a traditional slow-churn creates a delicate snow-like texture.

REMEO sorbets are naturally dairy free and vegan friendly and the packaging is entirely plastic-free. The high percentage of fruit in the Malfy Spritz Sorbetto (45% blood orange) means a smoother texture giving it its unique eat.

Create your own ‘Malfy Spritz’ Aperitivo:

Pour ingredients into a glass over cubed ice and gently stir to combine before garnishing:

  • 35ml Malfy Gin Con Arancia
  • 50ml San Pellegrino Limonata
  • 50ml Prosecco
  • Garnish with blackberries, a pink grapefruit slice and sage.

Now, if you’ve crossed paths with Philippe Conticini’s haven in South Kensington, London, you’re in for a treat. You see, Conticini is the kind of pastry magician whose creations redefine the term “food artistry.”

But why, you might ask, did we choose his giant croissant as the pièce de résistance for our dessert extravaganza? We could not resist joining in on the TikTok sensation featuring this croissant and our gelato. The viral videos showcasing the dessert’s
jaw-dropping appearance and mouthwatering taste inspired us to give it a go and share it with our dinner party guests.

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients Before the artistry begins, gather your ingredients. Ensure that your croissant is at room temperature, and let that gelato soften just a tad for the perfect assembly.  

Step 2: Prepare the Croissant Now, let’s handle that croissant like the work of art it is. Slice it horizontally, and you’ll unveil the canvas of buttery perfection from Philippe Conticini himself.

Step 3: Add Remeo Pistachio Gelato Generously scoop Remeo Pistachio Gelato onto the croissant’s lower half. Be lavish; you’re creating a masterpiece here. Lage dollops are perfect, do not spread the gelato, but try and achieve a chunkier distribution

Step 4: Create the Croissant Sandwich Place the top half of the croissant back onto the gelato-covered bottom half, creating a croissant sandwich. Press gently to make sure the two halves adhere to each other.

Step 5: Drizzle with Pistachio Cream Now comes the pièce de résistance: that jar of exquisite pistachio cream. Drizzle it over your dessert creation, letting it flow gracefully down the sides. It’s a saucy performance worthy of your soirée.

Step 6: Dust with Icing Sugar For the finishing flourish, wield a fine-mesh sieve like a maestro. Sprinkle a delicate veil of icing sugar over the entire dessert. It’s not just sweet; it’s a visual crescendo.

Step 7: Garnish with Crushed Pistachios Sprinkle a handful of crushed pistachios over the top of the croissant gelato dessert. This not only adds a delightful crunch but also brings out the nutty pistachio flavour.

Step 8: Serve and enjoy! Slice your croissant gelato dessert into portions, ensuring each serving has a perfect balance of croissant, gelato, pistachio cream, and garnishes. Plate them beautifully and watch your guests’ faces light up with delight as they indulge in this exquisite treat.
